Perfect for Women. =)

3. Milan, Lombardy, Italy

4. Tokyo, Japan
Shopping in Tokyo is like visiting a mall covering a large expansion of square miles. Some of the neighborhoods of Tokyo are divided by the type of product the shopper is interesting in. Botiques, department stores, electronics, high-end fashion, trendy clothing, and bookstores are all accessible in Tokoyo if one knows the neighborhoods.

5. San Francisco, California

San Franciso offers a wide span of shopping areas that are highly distinct to one another. San Francisco offers large upscale malls, convenient window gazing, and stores that scream, "I'm a tourist". A suggestion: Bring an extra suitcase.

History & Culture

1. Rome, Lazio, Italy
In its prime, Rome was the most powerful empire in history. Today, remains of the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, and Pantheon still remain, along with the ancient aqueducts. Rome also includes a more modern side including their Italian food which they are admired for and their shopping. The Pope is not too far a way in Vatican City.

{2. New York City, New York 3. Paris, Lle-de-France, France} (See Family Friendly Vacations)
4. London, England, United Kingdom

Ever wondered about Shakespeare's home land? Well in London you can visit the once popular Globe Theatre. Feel free to be the King or Queen for a day while visiting Buckingham and Kensington Palace. Do not forget to make that stop at the Tower of London either. London is full of grandeur and history, the only thing it is missing is you.

5. Athens, Greece
The ancient Greeks date back before the time of the Romans. Adventure to this beautiful land where not only the landscape can take your breath a way, but the remaining artifacts of the Ancient Greeks. Popular sights include the Acropolis, the Parthenon, Agora, the National Gardens, and much, much more. Athens involves digging beyond the surface to find all its hidden jewels.

Beaches and Sun Vacation

The top three Beaches and Sun Vacations, also known as my favorite destinations.

1. Dominican Republic
Beaches of the Dominican Republic rank among the world's best. Along with endless stretches of white beaches, the Dominican Republic also caters to visitors' outgoing, sunbathing, jet skiing, and scuba diving needs.

2. Playa del Carmen, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico
Playa del Carmen requires a bundle of cool clothes and sunglasses in order to experience the white sand benches drenched in daily sun exposure. This beach is not exactly for those looking for scuba diving, rather it is a great place to just lounge in the sun or swim.

3. Maui, Hawaii

This "hot" spot does not require a passport or exchange of money, and it is part of the United States, just eight hours a way from the contiguous states. Maui, Hawaii offers several selections of beaches including black, white, and red sand beaches. Some of these beaches are secluded, while others are bustling with restaurants and shopping. Maui offers beaches to suit everyone.

Googling Travel Destinations

One of my most used websites, as I'm sure with many of us whether you recognize it or not, is Google. So, I decided that the best start for my expedition would be to type "Travel Destination Ideas" into Google, and low and behold 21,900,000 websites are now accessible with the click of a mouse. Yet, I did not even have to search 5% of those websites to find one useful for my topic. Trip Advisor http://www.tripadvisor.com/Inspiration allows one to choose a vacation based on a category and where. It has broken types of vacations down into nine different categories consisting of Adventure, Beach and Sun, Casinos, Family Fun, Romance, etc. After selecting the type of vacation, you may then choose where, and you can be very general by just clicking "anywhere". After, selecting both a category and location, you then click on inspire me, and a list of vacations along with beautiful pictures is in the palm of your hands (as long as you have that credit card ready ;) ).

The Basics: Why I chose this topic

My mind debated on several options for my future blog including:
1. Chocolate and if it really has the ability to emotionally comfort people,
2. College Student Athletes going pro (especially after Gordan Hayword's latest announcement).
3. Did Butler really unite Indianapolis, and did we see a glimpse of the old Hoosier Hysteria?
Yet, I chose travel destinations, a rather far off topic from the other listed three. What made this topic so interesting to me is that I enjoy traveling, and to more than just the beach. I also know that students at Roncalli like to travel especially considering our IU honor students who will be traveling to specific locations in Europe this summer, and those of us who travel on Spring Break. So what I'm really trying to discover, is first starting with the poll, what kind of vacations are students looking for? Then, taking this farther to include top destinations in a certain category based on price, place, and activities.
